Strength and will in the modern world

Strong-willed people... They, like dinosaurs, will slowly fade away and eventually disappear.
Legends will be made about them, if there is anyone left to make them, if strong people don't drag everyone down with them...
At the core of strong and disciplined individuals lies anxiety and distrust:
of others (“What if they don’t do it, or do it wrong, or go the wrong way...”);
of themselves (when you don’t trust your feelings, your body, your instincts...).
They’ve called this anxiety strength...
It’s about controlling oneself and the world; it’s an attempt to cope with anxiety. As long as the world was relatively stable and simple, their anxious control and discipline became what united people who were afraid...
Out of habit, created by many generations before them, people still think that strong, disciplined individuals will make their lives safer. Sometimes this is true, but the price is always ahead — if not for you, then for your children.
Now, as the once-understandable world falls apart, attempts to control both the internal and external realities are doomed to fail for the strong. They will disappear, just like dinosaurs once did.
Strong and wise decisions, or people, don’t live long... We simply don’t notice the graveyards of “right visions” because we’re distracted by new “right visions.”
One foot is still planted in a world where the strong rule, but the next step — inevitable; a step into a world where constant change, movement, the unknown, ambiguity, and the unexpected become the norm, the way of life. In that life, the guiding principle will be the absence of guides.
